1st April 2013 – ISH Frankfurt: Ideal Standard, Roca und Roth rely on DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL
On this year's ISH in Frankfurt DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL did not only realise projects of their regular customers Ideal Standard and Roth, but, for the first time, also the challenging concept of the Spanish market leader Roca.
Roth presented themselves in two halls, as the company deals with both, sanitary and heating equipment. The two different stand concepts were designed and realised by DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL, focusing on the environmental orientation of the company. In hall 6 a course exemplified the „eco-energy-cycle“ of Roth products, from the generation of energy to the economical distribution and to storing.
For the first time the stand concept of Ideal Standard was designed by the agencies Jack Morton Worldwide and Future Brand, London, who were also responsible for the construction site management. The eye-catcher of the 860 m² large, 2-storey stand were four huge backlit wall frames with brilliant photo motive compositions, which - slightly slanted and on various positions on the stand area - towered up to a height of 5,5 m. Shower cubicles, tubs, wash basins and taps were displayed on 13 presentation isles. The focus was on a deliberately bright, clean and diversified material mix for floors, walls and ceilings.
The Berlin architects dan pearlman once again created the exceptional stand concept for Roca with a stand surface of 685 m². On this year’s ISH Roca surprised the visitors with an impressive stand in signal colours, a fascinating combination of the otherwise black outer appearance. As a strong contrast to this, the product area in the interior of the stand was entirely in white. Here the visitors could get inspirations by multiple solutions for the bathroom under the motto „Browse Your Bathroom“.

8th November 2012 - ADAM Award 2012: Gold for Mercedes-Benz at IAA 2011!
This year’s ADAM & EVA award ceremony, traditionally held in Mannheim’s Rosengarten, once again brought a class victory for a spectacular design concept, implemented by DI.
The Mercedes booth at the IAA 2011, in the Festhalle of Frankfurt Messe, proposed for the award by Kauffmann Theilig & Partner and Markgraph, won the golden ADAM award 2012 in the XXL category, surpassing illustrious competitors!
Apart from being the first time for DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL to implement the exhibition stand of superlatives in the Festhalle, it was also a totally new appearance for Mercedes with a huge stage, a dynamic presentation, a kinetically arranged LED wall and the typical brand ribbon of anodized brushed aluminium above the stage. Thus, the Mercedes booth did not only enchant the IAA visitors but also the FAMAB jury.

1st September 2012 - IFA Berlin: PANASONIC and SONY rely on DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL
For many years PANASONIC entrusts the well-known stand builder with the reliable and high-quality implementation of their stand design at the IFA Berlin. Now, and in line with the new cooperation between PANASONIC and SONY regarding innovative OLED technology, SONY for the first time also relied on the capabilities of DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL, who, on behalf of SCHMIDHUBER, realized this challenging concept.
PANASONIC presented their Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances products together on a stand surface of about 6.000 m², the design originated from a cooperation between D’ART, Nomura and push. The Public Area was characterized by "Monuments" for both product lines, A/V attracted the interest with a wave-shaped wall, made of interactively controllable flat screens. Four 8 m high towers in the Home Appliances area, equipped with Panasonic products appeared like sculptures. Designer and demo kitchens, beauty shops or solaria allowed the visitors to get an overview of the diversity of products, just as for the Consumer Electronics products, divided in themes and presented in operation in the typical "Line-Ups".
SCHMIDHUBER, renowned specialist for creative brand management of all dimensions for the first time took over the design and project management for SONY for the new 6.000 m² appearance, where the products themselves formed a circular zone and delivered the message "Welcome at One Sony". The central stage area and the "UX-Zones", consisting of "Play", "Watch", "Listen", "Share" and "Create" were framed by a Sony horizon with a 360° projection, which made this area a big experience space. The manifold possibilities of connectivity of the new "Xperia"-Smartphone generation were vividly demonstrated on a combined stage and the product area.
DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL, well-known as a specialist for stand building in the automotive industry, is used to big dimensions, nevertheless, it was a real challenge to plan the two stands of in total 12.000 m² simultaneously, produce the materials and assemble them in Berlin with two different crews. The almost unmanageable multitude of exhibited and partly networked products required an extremely precise project management and a high flexibility, which both of the worldwide known companies appreciated.

1st February 2012 - Hat trick in Detroit!
Like every year the first automobile exhibition highlight happened in Detroit, USA. Audi, Mercedes Benz and Volkswagen presented themselves with the usual high-quality and spectacular trade show appearances, all of them managed and built by DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL!
The working conditions in the Cobo Hall in Downtown Detroit are quite special, because only Union Workers are allowed to carry out manual work. For more than 15 years DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL has been working there every year for German automobile manufacturers, with special construction parts, mostly made in Europe of sophisticated materials, assembled and dismantled with local, selected craftsmen, partners and suppliers.
To oversee three of these challenging projects at a time is no routine, but requires an elaborate production, project management and logistics.
The facts:

Mercedes Benz/Maybach:
Surface: 1.775 m² plus 359 m² upper floor

23rd September 2011 - IAA Frankfurt: Mercedes Benz and Maybach
Premiere for DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL: For the first time we implemented the exhibition stand of superlatives for Mercedes and Maybach in the Festhalle of Frankfurt Messe. The IAA – the world's most important motor and mobility show, 2011 with 928.000 visitors – in peak times up to 10.000 people per day simultaneously visited the exhibition stand of Mercedes Benz and Maybach.
DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL was entrusted for the first time with the ambitious and unique concept of Kauffmann, Theilig & Partner architects – and in spite of the very special conditions of monument conservation in the listed festival hall, the stand was handed over to the client in excellent timing and top-quality.
The core facts speak for themselves: 890 tons of steel, 17.000 m² wooden surface material, 68 km electrical cabling, 30 m long escalators, 1.200 m² silver brand ribbon, 900 m² presentation stage and 450 m² backstage-area were built in only 70 days, hence an exhibition stand with 3 levels in a total height of 16 m and a total stand area of 10.950 m² evolved in the historical festival hall, the perfect basis for the car and media presentations.

1st April 2011 - Riding the Razor's Edge
Shanghai – hub of the auto world – so it seems these days, for most of the car manufacturers China already is the biggest market in the world – and the Volkswagen Group is the leading force here, VW being No. 1 since more than 20 years, AUDI the market leader of the premium segment since quite some time in China.
So it was an honour and challenge for DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL to realize b o t h of their upmarket exhibition stands on the Auto Shanghai 2011. The challenge: two large exhibition stands with totally different architectural concepts had to be set-up in an extremely short period, 5.500 m² in total with large upper decks, glass floors, spherically-shaped giant suspended "terminal" structures, noble car presentation platforms for the automobile highlights.
To complete all this in only 7 (!) days in cooperation with our Chinese partner Apex was like riding the razor's edge. It was almost impossible to coordinate an incredibly large amount of workers from Germany and China simultaneously around the clock, finishing the many lots, always maintaining the overview, and to work according to the planned schedule, but also to react quickly to the unforeseen complications…but both stands were handed over in time and finished in high quality, as our clients are used to and expecting from us since many decades.

5th November 2010 - Four at a time...
The trade get-together to award outstanding 3D designs annually takes place at various locations. In the past years, there had already been designs amongst the winners, that were realised by DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL.
This year the ceremony took place in the Rosengarten in Mannheim, and it is a special year, because four of the awards were given to designs whose realisation Display International was entrusted with. We congratulate all winners, but especially "our" architects, who had the wonderful creative ideas and converted them into buildable projects. We are happy to have been part of the realisation and to have converted the creativity into materiality!
There was 2 x Gold, 1 x Silver ADAM Award and 1 x Silver EVA Award:
Audi at Design Miami 2009, Audi's Dealer Congress Barcelona 2010 and Liebherr at Bauma 2010.

1st November 2010 - Mondial Paris: Citroën
The Mondial de l’Automobile is a home game for Citroën and their most important exhibition. For the 3rd time in a row Display International realised the stand of the French automotive manufacturer in the French capital.
According to the design of the agency AKDV a sensational world was created for the visitors, which informed and enthused. Elliptic shapes were a central theme of the design and gave a happy touch to the otherwise clear language of colour and form. The „Anneau“, a highlight display with circular 360° LED screens was the eye-catcher of the stand. The stand surface had 10 hall columns in total, however, these were smartly integrated into the general view of the stand and were used for graphics and LED presentations.

1st May 2010 - Monumental structures on Bauma Munich
A total surface of 13.800 m² as well as a 3-story building with panorama glazing was the highlight of this year’s Bauma in Munich. DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL took the advance of this historical challenge.
The new pavilion, developed by KTP Architekten, Stuttgart and turned out by DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL, set new standards at Bauma Munich. The result of 5 months of installation and 1000 tons of steel was a prestigious building with an effective surface of 6000 m². The pavilion surrounded by a steel-skeleton with high class interior quality contained 72 meeting rooms, numerous VIP-lounges, 3 lifts, restaurants, a trucker bar and a fan shop. The impressive distance effect provoked by the huge crawler crane (max. hook clearance of 240 m) as well as the elaborately built pavilion attracted numerous visitors.
The German magazine Focus (issue 17/2010) commented: "….the residence of Liebherr – the Taj Mahal of their exhibition majesty. Perhaps not bigger but surely more lordly than the administration offices of the world leader in Biberach or Kirchdorf or Ehingen… Staircases in the inside reminding of Paris’ Galeries Lafayette and a precious wood terrace surrounding the building allowed to watch the exhibits - the finest of mining and construction machinery…"

Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris is one of the world’s most important auto shows. Held biennially it is alternating with IAA Frankfurt. Five key accounts were raring to go for Paris Motorshow.
After an intensive stage of planning the crew had nine days to set up the five stands. All project teams worked in day and night shifts. As usual the task was not only to set up according to plans but to cater to the needs of the clients as well as respond to their on-site-suggestions.
In spite of the tight time schedule all exhibitions stands were shining in splendour on 2nd of October, ready for a flurry of camera flashes of the press.

4th November 2008 - Mondial 2008 - Citroën
Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris is the most important automotive show for Citroën. The second consecutive time DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL set up the stand for the French car manufacturer in its own home town.
Following the plans of the French design agency Ora-Ito a bright and friendly stand evolved. Light colours created an atmosphere of clarity - elliptic shapes as recurrent theme added a friendly accent. The “cocon”, a round-shaped highlight display with an illuminated ceiling element, was the eye-catcher of the stand. Though ten hall columns are situated on the stand area they did not disturb the overall picture: Clad with LED-stripes and graphics they were perfectly integrated into the design.

4th November 2008 - Mondial 2008 - Subaru
Subaru’s presentation was the consequent evolution of the new concept introduced at IAA Frankfurt 2007 for the first time. Though most of the elements were parts of the existing European kit a very unique and dynamic show could be presented in Paris.
The “Dynamic Flow” - a multidimensional fibreglass loop - suspended from the ceiling was an exceptional highlight of the Subaru stand. Produced as a modular element it can be used with a maximum size up to 26 metres long and 2.4 metres high, together with “Fins” equipped with LED technique. Underlining Subaru’s competence in the field of 4-wheel-drive numerous technical displays were exhibited next to the cars explaining the efforts of the brand in a vivid way.

4th November 2008 - Mondial 2008 - SsangYong
Once again DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL won the design pitch of SsangYong. The desire of SsangYong France was to present the brand modern but sophisticated.
Warm colours and straight shapes communicated timeless elegance. The walnut-finished facade of the building was continued as inlay in the floor - building the framework of the stand. A blue backlit fabric wall with integrated LED-technique produced an impression of depth but was - on the other hand - a big challenge in terms of installation. The ivory-finished timber floor made the harmony of the colour concept perfect.

27th May 2008 - German-Chinese cooperation carries out major project in Beijing
Once more DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL implements a major project together with its Chinese cooperation partner APEX (Shanghai Asian Pacific Exhibition Service) in Beijing. After an extensive planning stage the stand area of 5,200 m² was carried out within 10 days and nights.
While a some special constructions and materials came from Germany a good deal of the elements were produced by APEX under survey of German engineers. The installation and dismantling was mainly processed by local labour and supervised by German project managers.
The Chinese automotive market has been gaining more and more commercial relevance in the last couple of years. Thus it was an important aim of Volkswagen to emphasize its leading position in the world market by presenting an excellent performance.
DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL had to live up to very high expectations. The result was convincing: The sophisticated and futuristic design of the brand was one of the most impressive highlights of the Beijing Motorshow. A curved Mitrix wall 94 rm long and 7 m high served as interactive background and simultaneously built the front façade of the two-storied building.
Robert Waltmann, managing director sales of DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL, appreciates the smooth cooperation with the Chinese partner: “The Chinese market is getting more and more important in the global market. So we are very happy having found a reliable partner in China who is able to fulfil our demand of quality and to give us an understanding of the Chinese market conventions.”

24th January 2007 - Indoor ice surface integrated in booth
At Detroit Motor Show 2007 Mercedes Benz came up with a big surprise: An indoor ice surface right in the middle of the booth.
100 years ago, the “NAIAS” (North American International Auto Show) opened its doors to the world for the first time.
Nowadays, the International Motor Show in Detroit proved to be the traditional starting shot for automotive exhibitions every year used as stage for novelties by the most important car manufacturers all over the world.
A special eye-catcher in 2007 was the performance of Mercedes Benz presenting its innovations on a roughly 1.600 m² overall surface in a most elegant environment. Generosity of space as well as huge lamellas on the upper edge of the booth created a feeling of clarity and easiness. 600 m² iced surface and ice walls of 9 m height kept up by huge chillers conveyed an outstanding impression.
Right in the centre of the booth, Mercedes Benz demonstrated the latest efforts of “4Matic all-wheel drive“ on a glassy surface. Hockey players and figure skaters accompanied the presentation of the concept “Ocean Drive” during the press conference.
After all, the performance of Mercedes Benz on the Detroit Motor Show was a world premiere in the field of exhibition construction. Never before a sheet of ice in such a size has been deployed on a trade fair.
