May 1st 2010 - Monumental structures on Bauma Munich
A total surface of 13.800 m² as well as a 3-story building with panorama glazing was the highlight of this year’s Bauma in Munich. DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL took the advance of this historical challenge.
The new pavilion, developed by KTP Architekten, Stuttgart and turned out by DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL, set new standards at Bauma Munich. The result of 5 months of installation and 1000 tons of steel was a prestigious building with an effective surface of 6000 m². The pavilion surrounded by a steel-skeleton with high class interior quality contained 72 meeting rooms, numerous VIP-lounges, 3 lifts, restaurants, a trucker bar and a fan shop. The impressive distance effect provoked by the huge crawler crane (max. hook clearance of 240 m) as well as the elaborately built pavilion attracted numerous visitors.
The German magazine Focus (issue 17/2010) commented: "….the residence of Liebherr – the Taj Mahal of their exhibition majesty. Perhaps not bigger but surely more lordly than the administration offices of the world leader in Biberach or Kirchdorf or Ehingen… Staircases in the inside reminding of Paris’ Galeries Lafayette and a precious wood terrace surrounding the building allowed to watch the exhibits - the finest of mining and construction machinery…"

Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris is the most important automotive show for Citroën. The second consecutive time DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL set up the stand for the French car manufacturer in its own home town. Following the plans of the French design agency Ora-Ito a bright and friendly stand evolved. Light colours created an atmosphere of clarity - elliptic shapes as recurrent theme added a friendly accent. The “cocon”, a round-shaped highlight display with an illuminated ceiling element, was the eye-catcher of the stand. Though ten hall columns are situated on the stand area they did not disturb the overall picture: Clad with LED-stripes and graphics they were perfectly integrated into the design. |

Warm colours and straight shapes communicated timeless elegance. The walnut-finished facade of the building was continued as inlay in the floor - building the framework of the stand. A blue backlit fabric wall with integrated LED-technique produced an impression of depth but was - on the other hand - a big challenge in terms of installation. 27th May 2008 - German-Chinese cooperation carries out major project in Beijing
Once more Display International implements a major project together with its Chinese cooperation partner APEX (Shanghai Asian Pacific Exhibition Service) in Beijing.
After an extensive planning stage the stand area of 5,200 m² was carried out within 10 days and nights. While a some special constructions and materials came from Germany a good deal of the elements were produced by APEX under survey of German engineers. The installation and dismantling was mainly processed by local labour and supervised by German project managers.
The Chinese automotive market has been gaining more and more commercial relevance in the last couple of years. Thus it was an important aim of Volkswagen to emphasize its leading position in the world market by presenting an excellent performance.
Display International had to live up to very high expectations. The result was convincing: The sophisticated and futuristic design of the brand was one of the most impressive highlights of the Beijing Motorshow. A curved Mitrix wall 94 rm long and 7 m high served as interactive background and simultaneously built the front façade of the two-storied building.
Robert Waltmann, managing director sales of DISPLAY INTERNATIONAL, appreciates the smooth cooperation with the Chinese partner: “The Chinese market is getting more and more important in the global market. So we are very happy having found a reliable partner in China who is able to fulfil our demand of quality and to give us an understanding of the Chinese market conventions.”

24th January 2007 - Indoor ice surface integrated in booth
At Detroit Motor Show 2007 Mercedes Benz came up with a big surprise: An indoor ice surface right in the middle of the booth.
100 years ago, the “NAIAS” (North American International Auto Show) opened its doors to the world for the first time. Nowadays, the International Motor Show in Detroit proved to be the traditional starting shot for automotive exhibitions every year used as stage for novelties by the most important car manufacturers all over the world.
A special eye-catcher in 2007 was the performance of Mercedes Benz presenting its innovations on a roughly 1.600 m² overall surface in a most elegant environment. Generosity of space as well as huge lamellas on the upper edge of the booth created a feeling of clarity and easiness. 600 m² iced surface and ice walls of 9 m height kept up by huge chillers conveyed an outstanding impression.
Right in the centre of the booth, Mercedes Benz demonstrated the latest efforts of “4Matic all-wheel drive“ on a glassy surface. Hockey players and figure skaters accompanied the presentation of the concept “Ocean Drive” during the press conference.
After all, the performance of Mercedes Benz on the Detroit Motor Show was a world premiere in the field of exhibition construction. Never before a sheet of ice in such a size has been deployed on a trade fair.
